Not long after the Apple Watch hit store shelves, Best Buy started to tinker with the price of the Apple Watch through various promotions. It offered $50 off here, $100 off there.
However, we’ve never seen the price drop this low on the first-generation Apple wearable. Granted, it’s an older model, but it’s still every bit as capable.
The electronics retail giant has marked down the price of the first-generation Apple Watch line in order to make room for the new Apple Watch Series 1 and Series 2, with the Apple Watch Sport now starting at $189 for the 38mm model and $219 for the 42mm model. That’s a discount of $110 and $130, respectively.
Not only is Best Buy discounting the Sports edition, the company has also reduced the price of the stainless steel first-generation Apple Watch by as much as $300.
You can view the discounted models on Best Buy’s website here (for the stainless steel model), here (for the sport model), and through its official eBay store here. You can order the watch online and opt for in-store pickup through Best Buy’s site or its eBay storefront, which is something I highly recommend, as inventory is rapidly disappearing.
What do you give up by going with the first-generation Apple Watch over the new Series 1 and Series 2 models? Performance speed will be the biggest difference, as both new models featuring a faster processor. Series 2 also has built-in GPS and waterproofing for those who want to use the Apple Watch to track swim workouts.
For someone who wants an Apple Watch, but doesn’t want to spend a lot of money on one, this is as good of a deal as you’re going to see.
