Dell’s Black Friday ad has reliably leaked before other tech retailers over the last couple of years, and 2016 is no exception. While some of the deals may not be as good as they might seem, the PC maker always has a couple of doorbusters with eye-popping prices.
Last year those included a $149.99 laptop and a $99.99 desktop, and this year Dell has matched that desktop price again while also offering a notebook at the $99.99 price point. As always, these are scheduled offers in limited quantities. If you want to ruin the family Thanksgiving dinner, you can excuse yourself from the table at 6 p.m. (all times Eastern) on the 24th to grab the Inspiron 11 3000. Of course at $100, the specs are basic — Intel Celeron processor, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of built-in storage, and 11.6-inch display — but so is the price.
That goes for the $100 desktop as well. Like last year, it’s the Inspiron Micro, which offers the same basic components as the Inspiron 11 3000 in a small form factor that will be available at 10 p.m. on Thanksgiving night. For $249.99 ($100 off the current price), you can go all-in-one instead with the Inspiron 20 3000, which comes with Celeron CPU, 4 gigs of RAM, 500GB hard drive and 19.5-inch display and goes on sale at 9 a.m. on Black Friday. Also $100 cheaper than the usual price at Costco, the Inspiron E2416Hm combines a desktop tower (Intel Core i5 processor, 12GB of RAM, terabyte hard drive) with a 24-inch LCD monitor. It’s $479.99 starting at 8 p.m. on Black Friday.
There are five additional laptops in Dell’s ad, including a trio of doorbusters. At 8 a.m. on Black Friday, you can grab an Inspiron 15 3000 with Celeron CPU, 4GB of RAM, 500GB hard drive, and a 15.6-inch display for $199.99. A touchscreen edition of the Inspiron 15 3000 goes on sale at 11 a.m. on Black Friday for $349.99 with Intel Core i3, 8GB of memory, and a terabyte hard drive, while the Inspiron 11 3000 2-in-1 (Intel Core m3 processor, 4GB of RAM, 500GB hard drive, 11.6-inch touchscreen) is a $299.99 doorbuster starting at 6 p.m. on Black Friday.
The other two portables are a little pricier. Another hybrid, the Inspiron 15 5000 2-in-1, comes with a Core i3 chip, 4GB of RAM, 500GB, and 15.6-inch touchscreen for $479.99. Note, however, that this is only $20 cheaper than the regular price. A better special is the Inspiron 17 5000: The current price for this configuration (Core i5, 8 gigs of memory, terabyte hard drive, 17.3-inch screen) is $719, but it’s offered for $549.99 during the Black Friday sale period.
Even Dell’s Alienware gaming arm is getting in on the doorbuster act. You can save $200 off the Alpha Steam Machine’s base configuration: At noon on Black Friday, you get a Core i3 processor, 4GB of RAM, 500GB hard drive, and AMD Radeon R9 M470X graphics card for $299.99. Two hours earlier, you can grab an Alienware 15 gaming laptop for $1,299.99 complete with Core i7 CPU, 8GB of RAM, a terabyte hard drive, Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 graphics card, and 15.6-inch full HD display.
