The 24-70mm f/2.8 is often referred to as a “workhorse” lens. Many photographers swear by it, even those who prefer shooting primes, and the Camera Store TV wanted to see which company makes the best 24-70. Is it Nikon, Canon, Pentax, or Sony?
Samyang made a big splash yesterday when they debuted their very first autofocus lenses: a 50mm f/1.4 and a 14mm f/2.8, both for Sony FE mount. Today we get our first look at real world images of the 50mm, an autofocus test, and some tentative pricing info from the Photo & Imaging 2016 show!
As a photographer I spend a lot of time taking photos, editing, blogging, and posting to social media. To what end? Are the photos meant to be viewed for the 24 hour period that Facebook displays them and then just gone forever? And then I scrounge up another photo to share and the cycle just continues.
Want to mix things up a bit, gear-wise, without breaking the bank? Photographer Mathieu Stern has an idea for you. In this short video he shares four cheap toy camera lenses that he thinks are worth your time.
Last month we shared a long exposure photograph by NASA astronaut Don Pettit that showed star trails and city trails in the same frame.
